Our Easter dance was certainly enjoyed by those who attended. This year our numbers were slightly down, about 50 dancers attended; we had 3 squares up for plus and 5 for mainstream. It would seem that many people were away on holiday this year, many went to the Speewa spectacular in Victoria which we have been told was the final event; many dancers went for a last fling.

Even though our numbers were down, needless to say, a huge pile of hot cross buns was consumed – we just ate well.
What Happened To All Those Hot X Buns?
We had the usual array of bunny’s ears and some of our ladies (including Colin) wore some interesting headgear, most, loosely described as Easter bonnets.
Brian and Josie from Nottingham managed to attend the dance and confirmed this was absolutely their last square dance in Australia; they return to England on Wednesday 22nd April. We will miss their company, they almost became club members. We wish them a safe journey, hopefully we will see them again; they seemed to like Adelaide.

A reminder of some upcoming events of which you may not be aware.
Due to the success of our last Come and Try fun dance, we will be repeating the event on Sunday 24th May. Dancing will be from 2;00PM to 5.00PM with a BBQ tea provided at 5.00PM. Advertisements for this event will appear on this website soon.
Spin The Top Top Top
Our charity night to be held at the Burnside Community Centre, behind the Burnside town Hall; 7.00 PM for a 7.30 PM start, on Saturday 25th July featuring the brilliant Police Dixie Jazz Band, all proceeds will go to Childhood Cancer. We are hoping that some Camp Quality kids (kids who have cancer) will give a square dance demo. This is your opportunity to round up all your friends for a fun night out. More information is contained on our “Charity Night” page (see top bar) which will be updated soon. Tickets for the event will be made available through other Adelaide square dance clubs
Lady in Red (Maryka) & Brian
Our learners program will commence on Thursday 9th July, the first two weeks will cater for those wishing to join, on the third week we will be off into the learners programme. We urge that you get your friends to enrol on the first two nights, after that time we may accept more dancers, depending on their ability to catch up with the rest of the class. This will be the last learner’s class in Adelaide until next year so anyone thinking about learning needs to make up their mind now or be forced to wait a long time (missing out on all the fun they do not know about until they experience square dancing for themselves). Keep an eye on this website including the learners home page, accessed from “Learn to Dance” on the top horizontal bar of Wild Frontiers home page.
