Christmas in July

The club held a square dance “Christmas in July” dance party on 25th July. The event drew a good crowd, including two of our new learners - fearful of what they would experience. They were great (we all remember what it felt like to join a big bunch of more experienced mainstream dancers). After the 1st bracket, called at their level, they commented “at least we didn’t break down the square “. Later that night they got dragged into full mainstream dances wondering if they should actually know these strange calls. Never the less they like everyone else had fun, and the food…..
What a spread, the club committee and the dancers did a commendable job. Even Jeff could not finish of the food. Christmas cake (sober and drunken), mince pies, meat platters, savouries, dips, sandwiches, cakes, nibbles and chocolate we had it all.
Well done - cant wait till next July
