I Can’t Dance

Many think square dancing is a hillbilly event or a pastime of the aged, or think it is line dancing (boot scooting). Whilst the club name, its badge and wild west pictures link back to historic US square dance times, we are now a new age “modern square dance” club. Modern square dancing is varied you can dance to music from the 1800’s up to today, classical, jazz, pop, country, folk, the choice is yours. (we have yet to try rap).

Many men initially refuse to participate “I can’t dance, I have two left feet”.  We have found that once men have a go, they seem to stay. If you can walk in time to the beat of the music and listen to what the caller tells you to do, you will have no problem picking up this activity.  If you use the wrong left foot, you will be told to use the other left foot.
